KATE Middleton's uncle has said Prince Harry was happy with the royals and claiming he wasn't is "re-writing history".

Gary Goldsmith, who entered the Celebrity Big Brother house on Monday night, is the brother of Kate's mother Carole Middleton.

In scenes that aired on Tuesday, the entrepreneur asked fellow housemate and TV personality Sharon Osbourne what the "vibe" is in Los Angeles towards Harry and Meghan.

She suggested their popularity is "dwindling", adding: "I think everyone is fed up of their moaning".

The millionaire said: "I think it is pretty sad because I think at some point he's going to want to come back and be part of the gang, he might need to, but I think we're a very forgiving nation and I think everybody will give him a chance again."

Meanwhile, Osbourne interjected: "I don't think he's a bad person at all, I think he's foolish."

The "black sheep" of the Middleton family was also asked for his opinion on Meghan, who married the Duke of Sussex in 2018.

"I have the opinion that Harry was really, really, really loved, massively loved, and when they were a threesome - Kate, William and Harry - were really comfortable together, loved," the 58-year-old said.

On Harry's relationship with Meghan, he continued: "And then suddenly there's an extra dynamic that comes in, puts a stick in the spokes and creates so much drama that I don't generally think is there, and rewrote the history and said how unhappy he was, and I just don't think that's fair.

"And then you can't throw your family under a bus in such a dramatic style and then write books about it and expect to be invited round for Christmas."

Gary also asserted that he believes the Prince of Wales and Kate will be "the saviour of the royal family", while adding that he thinks the King has done a "spectacular job".

The Middletons were said to have read Gary the riot act before his stint in the spy house to ensure he didn't betray their trust.

But in his only newspaper interview this week Gary told The Sun: "She's beautiful on the outside, but more beautiful on the inside and really is a doting mum . . . so the way the monarchy is moving, it's family-centric.

"That's why I got so upset with Harry and Meghan because you don't reinvent history.

"I've got pretty miffed when they had a pop at my beautiful niece who couldn't say anything for herself."

Gary added that he was incensed at racism claims against Kate.

In the Dutch translation of his book Endgame, writer Omid Scobie alleged that King Charles and the Princess of Wales had asked Meghan and Harry what colour son Archie's skin might be.

Gary added: "It's absolute bull***t and I didn't hide my feelings very well when I was offered the opportunity to say something, I just thought I'd say it as I saw it. I did think I caught the tone of nation."

4 WIVES, TATTOOS...& LOTS OF CASH

By WILL BARKER

PRINCESS Kate's scandalous millionaire uncle has been married four times and become the family's black sheep.

Gary Goldsmith made a fortune in IT recruitment, selling his business Computer Futures for £17million in 2005.

Now he is being paid a big fee to take part in Celebrity Big Brother.

The heavily-tattooed 58-year-old pleaded guilty in 2017 after assaulting his fourth wife Julie-Ann outside their central London home.

He was handed a £5,000 fine and ordered into alcohol rehabilitation.

Prince William spent a holiday with Kate at Goldsmith's eight-acre hideaway in Ibiza, called Maison de Bang Bang, in 2006.

In a 2013 interview, Gary said: "People like to think I'm this black sheep, a bad boy.

"I'm not really. I've had my moments. I've got a good heart. I care about people."
