‘It feels odd without him’ admits emotional Hairy Biker Si King as he opens up on Dave Myers’ death

DAVE was too unwell to appear in one segment of the episode set in North Wales.

HAIRY Bikers star Si King reveals his sadness over late pal Dave Myers’ cancer struggles in the latest episode of the BBC2 series, the first to air since his passing last week.

The lads filmed their Go West series while Dave was receiving treatment for the illness and in tonight's set in North Wales.

But the co-host was too ill to appear in one segment, which meant Si had to travel solo.

After telling the owners of a permaculture farming firm “they’ve got the B team, not the A team,” Si later went on to say how much he missed his mate.

He said: “I genuinely wish my best mate was here because he would absolutely love this.

“This is what we’re all about, it’s fantastic.

“And he’s a good grower, Dave. Dave and his wife are good growers.”

Si also admitted he didn’t enjoy travelling on the open roads alone, saying: “I didn’t like riding on my own, particularly, but I’m going to take him some produce back and have a nibble.”

He added: “It’s odd without him.”

However, in emotional scenes, Dave was later well enough to visit an historic railway in Portmadog where he was able to fulfil a lifelong ambition of driving a steam train.

After watching his close pal lap up the experience, Si said: “It was nice to see my best mate driving a train.

“It was just lush to see a smile on his face because he had a bloody rough time.

Si announced last week Dave, who was diagnosed with cancer in May 2022, had passed away aged 66 in a heart-wrenching post on social media.

He wrote: “My best friend is on a journey that for now, I can’t follow.
