Kate ‘doesn’t need the stress’ of uncle Gary Goldsmith on Celeb Big Brother – as Middletons ‘read him riot act’
KATE Middleton does not need the stress of her uncle Gary Goldsmith going on Celebrity Big Brother, a source has said.
The Princess of Wales, 42, has not been seen since Christmas Day and is recovering following abdominal surgery at the London Clinic in January.
Gary, 58, is set to enter the 'Big Brother' house tonight and was spotted arriving at the ITV studios ahead of the live launch.
However, insiders claim that Kate's mum Carole — Gary's sister — is "infuriated" about him signing up for CBB.
They fear the "black sheep" of the Middleton family could spill royal secrets on the show.
"Kate doesn't need this stress," a source told The Sun. "It is infuriating for them."

They added: "Gary said he's been read the riot act by Kate's mum Carole and her dad Michael.
"They aren't happy he's going into Celebrity Big Brother."
Despite the family's concerns, those close to him have insisted he will only speak fondly of niece Kate.
He attended her wedding to Prince William in 2011 and her sister Pippa's marriage to billionaire James Matthews six years later.
Our insider added: "In the eyes of the public, Gary's become the black sheep of the Middleton family.
"Carole is his sister, so there will always be love, but they no longer see eye-to-eye on lots of things.
"He has said he doesn't have their blessing to go into the house but is going full steam ahead anyway.
"He wants to defend his family. Gary wouldn't do anything to embarrass Kate or William, who he thinks a lot of.
"With Kate being out of the public eye at the moment and William shouldering a lot, the last thing they want is for Uncle Gary to be causing any embarrassment on television.
"Gary has said he knows what he is doing and has told his friends he'd never do anything to hurt his family."
It comes after Prince William sparked crazed speculation after he pulled out of a memorial service for the last King of Greece in Windsor.
Kensington Palace initially refused to elaborate on the reason for his no-show but cited a "personal matter" and urged people not to "panic".
But it led to crazy theories about the royal couple being traded on the internet and social media X, formerly known as Twitter.
The palace attempted to dismiss "wild conspiracy theories" that spiralled out of control online.
A Kensington Palace spokesman said: "We were very clear from the outset that the Princess of Wales was out until after Easter and Kensington Palace would only be providing updates when something was significant."
GARY'S SCANDALS
The businessman made £30million after launching an IT company but became embroiled in scandal.
In 2009 he was caught cutting lines of cocaine for a sex worker at a wild party in Ibiza.
And he dodged jail when found guilty of hitting his fourth wife, Julie-Ann, in a drunken row.
The Sun first revealed in January how Gary had signed his ITV contract.
He is CBB's most controversial contestant and is joining celebrities including TV star Sharon Osbourne, music guru Louis Walsh and presenter Fern Britton.
Other stars including Coronation Street actor Colson Smith and Strictly Come Dancing's Nikita Kuzmin are also locked down in the secret location ahead of the first episode.
Insiders said ITV think Gary will become a firm favourite for his straight-talking and the insight he could give on his niece — who will one day become Queen.
He wants to defend his family. Gary wouldn't do anything to embarrass Kate or William.
He previously auditioned for I'm A Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here! but telly sources claimed ITV backtracked after fearing he may cause embarrassment for the Palace.
Kate was a bridesmaid at Gary's first wedding in 1991.
Footage showed her and sister Pippa, then aged nine and seven, waving outside the church.
And in 1997, the teenage sisters were at his second wedding.
CBB's opening episode tonight will be hosted by AJ Odudu and Will Best on ITV1.
Stars will be seen for the first time when they exit their cars and walk into the famous house.

PRINCESS Kate's scandalous millionaire uncle has been married four times and become the family's black sheep.
Gary Goldsmith made a fortune in IT recruitment, selling his business Computer Futures for £17million in 2005.
Now he is being paid a big fee to take part in Celebrity Big Brother.
The heavily-tattooed 58-year-old pleaded guilty in 2017 after assaulting his fourth wife Julie-Ann outside their central London home.
He was handed a £5,000 fine and ordered into alcohol rehabilitation.
Prince William spent a holiday with Kate at Goldsmith's eight-acre hideaway in Ibiza, called Maison de Bang Bang, in 2006.
In a 2013 interview, Gary said: "People like to think I'm this black sheep, a bad boy.
"I'm not really. I've had my moments. I've got a good heart. I care about people."
