Former Top of the Pops presenter breaks down in tears as she admits money struggles

A BRITISH TV presenter has opened up about her family's money struggles in a candid post.
Sarah Cawood, who previously headed up Top of the Pops, shared that she has had to tighten her belt as the financial climate in the UK becomes more difficult.
The mum was in charge of balancing the books this month, and realised that she cannot afford her current lifestyle on the freelance wages she and her hubby are earning.
She took to Instagram with an emotional speech about the tricky situation, sharing a photo of herself with her head in her hands.
Sarah attached Taylor Swift's forlorn song my tears ricochet to the post.
The former Beeb presenter wrote: "No one really talks about money here, or how we are all managing. But how ARE we all managing?
"We are a family of freelancers, we live well, but we live to the edge of our means, and that’s going to have to stop.
"I will admit money burns a hole in my pocket, but this month, the sums haven’t added up and my poor husband, our main breadwinner, has a gap in his contracts that we have to fill somehow.
"I’m just glad that I can plug some of the hole with my direct sales money, and I’m intending that to be a full time wage, but the building of a business takes time and patience. I have no doubt it’s moving in the right direction but I hate doing the family finances and telling everyone we need to box smart for a few weeks.
"So yes, I’m talking about money. How hard it is to manage right now and how frustrating it is when you work as hard as we ALL do and have nothing left over for the fun stuff.
"Any budgeting tips are welcome btw!"
Fans in the comments welcomed her honesty, and many admitted that they are in similar situations.
One person told Sarah: "Congratulations on discussing such a sensitive subject. Small business owners struggle with cash flow and building their businesses as well as juggling household finances. As a single parent and small business owner, I feel your pain."
Another lamented: "I’m sorry things are so difficult. I’m a single mum I run a small beauty studio in my back garden. My son is 22 but has ASD and ADD which makes doing a regular job impossible. He does a bit of dog walking. Our ends are just not meeting!! It’s tough for everyone. Just keep going the sun will shine again soon."
A third added: "It's one of those week bubs , I've had two days worth of tears ..working 3 jobs and trying to keep a home . I know it will all be OK in the end it always is but jeez I feel ya."
