STARS appearing on reality TV shows rarely give their time up for free.
So it will come as no surprise that the big names taking part in Celebrity Big Brother can ask for a lot of cash to appear on the show.
Do contestants get paid on Celebrity Big Brother and how much?
The Celebrity Big Brother stars can command a huge amount of money to be locked up in the famous compound.
But their fee depends on the status of the star, and also how much publicity they can bring to the show.
For example, if a celebrity has recently been involved in a scandal or is friends with an A-List star, they can ask for more cash as producers will be hoping they will spill the beans on TV.
For Celebrity Big Brother 2024, it has not yet been revealed how much the star housemates are being paid.

Also, if the show follows the same format as previous versions of the show on Channel 4 and Channel 5, they don't receive any prize money.
Instead the prize pot goes to a charity of the winners choice.
But while they don't get cash for winning, they get A LOT of money for taking part.
However, this in stark comparison to the civilian Big Brother, where they reportedly get paid just £50 a week.

Celebrity Big Brother sees a line-up of stars leave their life of luxury behind.
Like the original BB, they will take part in nominations and tough tasks with cameras capturing their every move.
The Sun has exclusively revealed the line-up of stars who have reportedly signed up.
Those big names are:

When does Celebrity Big Brother start in 2024?
ITV's first ever Celebrity Big Brother will kick off on March 4, 2024, at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.
After this, the show will air daily at 9pm on ITV2 which will be followed by Celebrity Big Brother: Late & Live.
The Live Stream is also back for the star-studded addition of the show, and will air seven nights a week on ITVX.
This will give fans the opportunity to watch live footage from the house.
