QUICK MARCH

Traitors star Harry Clarke is fast tracked out of Army after winning show – and top brass are delighted to see him go

So far the up-and-comer has been seen brushing shoulders with the stars

THE Traitors champion Harry Clark was fast-tracked out of the Army this week so he could pursue his new TV career after triumphing on the BBC One show.

But far from leaving under a cloud, he exited with his bosses’ blessing, not having to serve the 12 months’ notice usually required in the military.

Top brass see the 23-year-old former lance corporal as a great example of military flair — smart, shrewd, determined and disciplined — and are keen on him inspiring other young people to sign up.

A TV insider said: “After serving his country for six years there’s no questioning Harry’s commitment to the Army, but as he chases a media career they also know he is great PR for the services.

“He’s never hidden the fact that he used his military training to help him win on The Traitors and, somehow, managed to outfox everybody while still keeping their affection and respect.

“Harry isn’t rushing into signing up for any shows that are likely to make the Army wonder why he gave up a good job.”

I exclusively revealed earlier this month that he turned down £250,000 to sign for Celebrity Big Brother because he didn’t feel it was the right choice at this stage of his career.

So far he’s only been seen out and about at social events, including a gig by The 1975 at the O2 last week when the band’s frontman Matty Healy, who is a huge fan of The Traitors, gave him and fellow Traitor Paul Gorton a shoutout after spotting them in the audience.

In between songs, Matty announced to the packed crowd at the O2: “I am genuinely starstruck by you two.

“You guys are sick. Give it up for Paul and Harry, ladies and gentlemen.”

The 20,000 fans who had packed into the arena turned to applaud them both, but unfortunately Harry missed the moment as he had nipped out to use the toilet and returned, utterly oblivious to the adulation.
