The Chase star reveals what actually happens to ITV prize money after being bombarded with questions about salary
ONE of the Chasers from hit game show The Chase has revealed what really happens to the ITV jackpots.
Darragh Ennis joined The Chase permanently as the sixth member in 2020, having previously appeared as a contestant.
The 41-year-old, nicknamed 'The Menace', recently took to social media and shared how he and his co-stars are paid with his 108.3K followers.
In the TikTok video, Darragh explained: “A lot of people ask me, ‘Do we get the money when we beat contestants on The Chase? Do we win that money?’.
“I wish we did, I really wish we did. I’d be a lot better off, believe me, but no, we don’t.
“The money isn’t actually real until someone wins, it's just numbers on a screen until it’s won, so it just disappears.

“People also like to ask me a lot how much chasers get paid, so I finally thought i’ll just tell you.
“This is exactly how much it is.”
The star then pointed up to words on the screen which said: “None of your business.”
In his comments section, fans were still eagerly asking away as one wrote: “I used to think the Chasers got paid like 30k every episode,” to which the chaser responded with a laughing emoji.
A second user added, “I’ve always been curious, how many episodes are made in a day? Bradley Walsh appears to be omnipresent!” with Darragh replying: “Three.”
A third quizzed: “Just tell us this, do you need to work another job And is it enough to live an average lifestyle.”
Replying to the comment, the TV star revealed: “ I have another job, I'm a scientist.”
Most recently, Anne Hegerty let slip a show secret she admitted she 'wasn't supposed to share'.
The popular TV quizzer, 65, made the bombshell admission about the programme's nail-biting offers.
