BBC Breakfast moved into their sparkling brand new studio last summer - but there's a second one that will never make it on TV.

The flagship programme is the most-watched breakfast show in the UK, hosted by Sally Nugent, Jon Kay, Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt.

During the week the anchors present on rotation from the iconic red sofa in Salford, Manchester.

But there's another secret red sofa at their HQ in MediaCityUK.

The Sun can reveal a second studio sits on display at the reception area on the docks.

Replicated to look like the famous set, it's used as way for fans and guests of the show to have their pictures taken without disrupting the live programme.

A BBC Breakfast insider said: "It's pretty cool that they have it and guests of the show - or even guests from other BBC productions enjoy it.

"Usually those who appear on BBC Breakfast love a picture either with the hosts or the set and are of course able to do so.

"But because the show is completely live there's time restrictions."

The red sofa has even been included in a Tripadvisor review from a member of the public who went on a tour of Dock House, BBC North's hub.

The multi-purpose studio is also shared with BBC Sport.

The BBC claim its new screen technology helps to tell stories in a "creative, bold and imaginative way" and enables "collaboration and sharing across sites".
