A TWISTED BBC game show with a celebrity host is returning to screens in just two weeks’ time.
The BBC has a number of game shows on its books that air across the daytime and early evening schedules.
One of these is Bridge of Lies, hosted by Ross Kemp, which sees a group of contestants take turns to cross a digital floor that gradually displays both correct and incorrect answers for a particular category.
The show first aired in March 2022, with a second series airing in January last year.
Bridge of Lies has also had a celebrity version which aired from January to April 2023.
Now, it has been confirmed that the show will be back in just two weeks’ time, beginning March 11.
When the third series of the show was confirmed in June last year, Ross, 59, said: “I’m overwhelmed at the response we’ve had from audiences for this show.
“It’s great for all the family to get involved in, both in the day and on Saturday evenings.
“Hosting Bridge of Lies, with all its jeopardy, tension and hilarious moments, is one of the most enjoyable parts of my year, so I’m delighted it’s been recommissioned by the BBC and can’t wait to get back filming in Glasgow.”
While it’s great news for Ross that the third series will soon be on air for viewers to enjoy, the same can’t be said for another of his shows.
The star’s Channel 5 series on the most dangerous prisons in the world has been axed – in the middle of the new series being filmed.
Ross was due to film in South America this year for his ‘72 Hours In…’ series.
However the entire team has been told to stand down with filming no longer going ahead.
According to , the show has been scrapped over the cost of filming – with the site claiming bosses weren’t happy at how expensive the series was getting.
Kemp had reportedly already filmed one of the episodes in Colombia in October last year, and it now may never see the light of day.
When approached by The Sun Online, a Channel 5 spokesperson said: “Filming had begun on the series, but due to unforeseen production challenges, we made the practical decision to halt filming and will not be progressing further.”
Bridge of Lies returns to BBC One on Monday, March 11 at 4.30pm.
