Joel had plans to upgrade the vehicle's engine and t make it go even faster.

However, when he brought the car back home and placed it into his garage, Joel never drove it back out and it remained in the space for 30 years without ever moving before his sad death.

It meant that the car had been left to bask and it resulted in its condition being less thanm favourable.

the team found that the brakes were seized, the tyres were flat and that the engine was struggling after having not been turned on for three decades.

Joel's car was also surrounded by an incredible amount of debris and soot which meant getting into the front was a rather difficult task.

With the team taking a further inspection, it became clear that Irene was finding the process of letting go of something that belonged to her beloved husband hard.

She was left crying as she recounted Joel's love for the car.

Irene said: "Joel loved it.

"It’s been a difficult year losing him but, sorry I’m gonna cry.

"I think Joel would be happy [someone else could enjoy it] and that's the main thing."

I love classic cars so much I park five inside my house - I’ve got a Mini in the hall, a Jenson in gym and an Aston in the kitchen

Revealing her hopes for the motor's future, Irene added: "Now that he's passed, it's time to pass it on to someone who can do it justice and make sure it lives on with someone else and it can make some great memories."

On a positive note, Bangers and Cash expert Jack revealed that the car was not in as bad a shape as first thought.

They were left super impressed by its incredibly well-kept and rare interior which they described as being 'to die for'.

Eventually, the car sold at auction for £7,400 - £1,400 more than they had initially hoped for.
