Just after 9am, the broadcasters prepared to handover to the show's regional newsrooms for the local headlines.

However as BBC Breakfast cut to the station's Glasgow studio, viewers were unable to hear Scots anchor Graham Stewart, 49.

Telly bosses terminated the news coverage north of the border and replaced it with a warning message.

It read: "We are sorry for the break in this programme and we are trying to correct the fault."

But back in the show's Manchester studio, Jon and Sally seemed unaware of their colleague's nightmare broadcast.

And it's not the first time the morning staple has been plagued with technical issues.

BBC Breakfast was bombarded with complaints recently from disappointed fans left ranting over a ";dreadful" blunder.

Viewers watching along at home were left irritated as the show appeared to suffer from some sound issues.

The show crossed over to Kilkenny in Ireland where they spoke to a father and son duo about the young boy, Stevie, and his impressive singing ability.

The sound appeared to drop out frequently as it made it difficult to tell what the guests were saying.
