Dancing On Ice fans work out the real reason Ryan Thomas went topless for skate

DANCING On Ice fans are convinced that Ryan Thomas stripped off on today’s show to win votes.

The 39-year-old opted to perform in just a pair of gold shorts, revealing his tanned and toned six pack.

The actor channelled his inner Wham! as he skated to the band's hit Club Tropicana with his partner Amani Fancy and ended up getting his highest score of the series.

Those watching at home couldn’t resit commenting on this tactic, with one person commenting: “They know what they are doing with this one .. trying to get the gays to like Ryan so take off his top and have him in gold lame shorts .,,dammit I mustn’t succumb lol.”

A second said: “Get the pecs out for some votes' tactic”.

While a third added: "Ryan deserves an extra point just for sliding on the ice like that when he’s topless to be fair."

Ryan and Armani performed a series of challenging lifts, including one which saw Armani flip over Ryan's shoulders backwards, which secured them a score of 35.5 - their highest of the series.

Judge Oti Mabuse complimented it as "fun and cheeky" while Christopher Dean praised Ryan for attempting rotational lifts, which he said a lot of other male contestants were not attempting.

Ryan joked he was bringing the shorts home for his fiance Lucy Mecklenburgh.

Earlier in the day Ryan had admitted how hard it had been finding it away from his family.

He shared with his followers: "Can’t wait to be back home with my family.

"I’m always complaining how hard @dancingonice is, but nothing is harder than looking after two young children on your own. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do this, never complaining, constantly reassuring & supporting me."

He added: "I’ve never taken for granted how lucky I am to have the perfect mother/partner.

"A family Holiday will be at the top of my to do list when I’m finished here!…but until then I’ll be skating to Club Tropicana in tonight’s live show, wishing we were having that piña colada by the pool."
