ANNE Hegerty has let slip a The Chase secret she admitted she 'wasn't supposed to share'.
The popular TV quizzer, 65, has made the bombshell admission about the programme's nail-biting offers.
On the weekday programme, ITV viewers see The Chasers offer up a variety of different amounts of money to each player as they take part in the cash-builder round.
Depending on how much money they make on their quick-fire question round with show host Bradley Walsh, determines what The Chasers choose to offer for their 'lower' and 'higher' amounts.
However, Anne, known as The Governess, has now revealed that everything is not as it seems.
Speaking to at the TV Choice Awards, Anne let slip a show secret and revealed the heavy producer involvement when it comes to determining the money.

On-screen, fans are led to believe that it is the Chaser themselves choosing how much cash to offer.
But now Anne has admitted that is far from the truth.
She said to the publication: "I’m probably not supposed to tell you, so I’m telling you, it’s actually the producers. The message gets passed down to the floor, and that’s how we know what the offer is.
"We don’t actually make it up ourselves, but we have to pretend that we did!"

Grinning, she also admitted that the amount of money she plays for, no matter how big, does not faze her as "it’s not my money".
She went on to add: "The producers say to us 'We wouldn’t let you offer it if we didn’t think you’d got it'.
"My job is just to listen and answer as fast as I can."
Anne then bluntly admitted: "I worry less about the money, and more about looking like an idiot.
"If I lose a game then I put myself under a little more pressure to not lose the next one, even though the producers tell me that they don’t mind. They say: 'We need losses. You’ve been winning too many.'
"Even so, I don’t like losing. None of us like losing."
Anne also recently admitted at the Awards ceremony that her job on The Chase had prevented her from taking on any other reality shows.
She said: “The trouble is I’m not allowed to do any others.
