Ben, 50, has fronted the beloved show alongside Kate Humble since 2000.

And after 25 years on screen, there's little chance of it being parked anytime soon.

Ben exclusively told The Sun: “It’s amazing Animal Park is still winning awards, because it’s been 25 years that we’ve been making that show and I’m thrilled it’s still going.

“I believe there’s going to be a series this summer and then one in winter, and I really hope so because I’d like to see it carry on for another few years.”

It comes after they scooped the gong for Best Daytime TV show at this year's TV Choice awards.

Animal Park beat This Morning in a brutal snub to the ITV programme.

Speaking passionately about the BBC Two show, Ben said: "In a way I'm glad I wasn't at the awards ceremony because that award belongs to all the production who have made it, all the keepers and in particular the animals.

"Kate and I just happen to be the faces of show, but the show really isn't about us. I feel really thrilled for everyone else."

"The fact we beat This Morning, that is pretty amazing - it's a big show, isn't it?"

Father-of-two Ben added: I've never been motivated by awards, I'm motivated by the reward of actually doing the job.

"What I love about Animal Park is actually spending time with the keepers and animals, they do that job 365 days a year and love it.

"I'm just so glad that after 25 years the public have been able to return the thanks to them."

Ben was speaking ahead of his new Channel 5 three-part series, Into The Congo with Ben Fogle, which kicks off this Sunday at 9pm.
