The 49-year-old is currently filming the latest E4 series of MAFS, describing it as his "favourite ever".

He says allowing brides and grooms with previous fame to enter the process means they are genuinely looking for love over fame.

"We're filming right now," Paul told The Sun as he got his at Boots.

"Every series we say it's the best series yet, I don't know if it'll be for the public - we'll have to wait and see - but what I can say for sure is it's my personal favourite.

" A personal push-back we've had over the years is that not all the contributors were there for love.

"You cannot present any argument against the fact that every one of these contributors are there for love. It's fact. It shows up in their behaviours and it's amazing.

"We're giving them scores of measurements and tests because you need to be able to measure and assess where you are in order to find how how to make a change.

"At MAFS there's a multitude of testing we do, like psych tests and finding out attachment style, so that when the contributor comes and sits on the couch, we're not just giving advice on how to strengthen their relationship.

"We're giving advice on how to make them better as a human being.

"By doing that, you can strengthen your relationship."

Paul - who also works on Celebs Go Dating - says the method of testing done on his reality show is similar to that of his new Boots campaign.

Boots has teamed up with relationship expert Paul to encourage people to open conversations about heart health with their loved ones, having brought back its popular  for people over 40 that do not have a diagnosis of high blood pressure

Dad-of-two Paul booked a 15-minute appointment to test his NHS Blood Pressure Check Service, with GP referral if needed, optional BMI (Body Mass Index) and waist circumference measurement as well as lifestyle guidance on exercise, nutrition, sleep, mental wellbeing and stopping smoking.

Since having his health MOT, Paul has lost 4kg after being inspired to focus on his health.

"I was at the border of going into unhealthy land.

"I thought if I continue in this direction then I'm headed into a bad place

"Now, just within a few weeks. I'm back in the center of ultimate health.

"My brain functions faster, I'm able to retain a lot more memory and I'm able to get a full night's rest.

"I'm able to better manage my anxiety as a result of this."

"I think I've always lived a relatively healthy life. I've always worked out, you know.

"I've always tried to manage what I'm eating, but you know, sometimes you go through periods where you are not on track and you need these assessments, these tests, just to let you know just as indicators of where you are and what you need to do. And it was a blessing."

Heart health

Paul’s three tips for having conversations about heart health with a partner or loved one:

  1. “Prepare and educate yourself: Begin by visiting the Boots Health Hub to learn about heart health. Being informed helps in presenting the issue clearly and responding to any questions with confidence.
  2. “Listen actively: Make sure you listen to what your partner has to say. This shows that you respect their feelings and are genuinely interested in understanding their perspective.
  3. “Express empathy and take action: Showing empathy is about more than just understanding; it’s about taking steps together.

Customers are being encouraged to book a Free Health MOT if they are eligible, available at its stores in England and to celebrate this Valentine’s Day.

Paul added: "It's the perfect match. Here I am focused on finding great partners to reduce your stress and at Boots helping you to identify if you have high blood pressure."

Paul said: “I know from my experience as a relationship coach that sometimes conversations about health concerns can be challenging for many couples, especially if our concern is for the health of a loved one as we fear upsetting them, or perhaps conflict.

“I’m teaming up with Boots to highlight the importance of having these conversations, and to provide some advice on how to start them.

"I’d also encourage anyone over 40 in England to take advantage of the Free Health MOT now available at Boots – and for couples out there to consider booking an appointment together. I’ve had an MOT myself and will be encouraging my wife and other loved ones to get one this month.”
