Legendary game show opens applications for next series – here’s how you can take part
Do you have what it takes to be the nation's next quiz genius?
BBC viewers have been invited to apply for the upcoming season of an iconic BBC Two quiz show.
Since Mastermind launched on TV back in 1972, it has become one of the most-watched shows on British television.
Now Hat Trick/Hindsight Productions have announced that a casting call is currently underway to find the next big star of the beloved BBC Two quiz show.
As Mastermind aged, Magnus Magnusson’s original catchphrase, “I’ve started, so I’ll finish,” has become one of the most iconic lines of any British show to date.
Now you could get the chance to sit in the famous black chair while showcasing your vast knowledge in many different specialised subjects.
If not you, do you know someone with a thirst for knowledge who wants to get a piece of TV action?
Well, look no further as this might be the time to shine.
The Hat Trick/Hindsight Productions casting call reads: “We are looking to cast a diverse range of people throughout the whole of the UK. Anyone can apply as long as they are 18 or over and a resident of the UK (including the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man). “
“As well as regular quizzers, we also want to encourage people who might not usually apply for quiz shows to get involved.
“After you have submitted your application, one of the casting team may get in touch to organise a Zoom audition with you.
“We’ll do a short general knowledge quiz and learn more about why you’ve chosen your specialist subjects.
“The audition will only take 15-20 minutes and is very relaxed and fun.”
