Since then, it seemed she's been trying to avoid the host of the show Ryan Seacrest, 49.
In photos taken on Thursday, the cast of the competition show spent time at the Aulani Disney Resort in Kapolei, Hawaii.
They were filming for the upcoming season of American Idol while hanging out with Minnie and Mickey in their floral outfits.
"I noticed interactions between Katy and Ryan Seacrest were pretty icy and they would only interact when the cameras were rolling," an eyewitness to the filming said.
"Otherwise, they would just pass each other and not even look in each other's direction."
"For the most part, Katy kept to herself unlike prior years on set, and there really seemed to be a distance between herself and the other judges," they continued.
"She has always been particularly close with Luke Bryan and Lionel but this year, she would film her segment and leave the set as soon as she could."
