Shaheen Jafargholi is known for playing Shakil Kazemi on the beloved soap.
The teen died in 2018 in part of an EastEnders knife crime storyline when he was stabbed by a young gang leader.
Shaheen, now 27, has been revealed as one of the new cast members on the second season of BBC Three show Wreck.

She had been working on the same boat three months beforehand when she mysteriously vanished.

Velorum, the company that run the cruise, claimed Pippa ended her life by jumping into the ocean - but her teen brother didn't buy the story.
While the rest of the crew seem oblivious, wrapped up in partying and debauchery, Jamie attempts to investigate a series of murders he discovers taking place on board.
At the end of season one he makes a discovery about a huge secret on the ship that explains why crew members keep dying.
Season two is said to be set a few months after the bloody finale of the first series.
