Real reason behind Adam Maxted’s split with Love Island girlfriend Katie Salmon revealed as exes traded insults online
ADAM Maxted is hoping for a second stab at romance in the Love Island All Stars villa after his relationship with season two co-star Katie Salmon ended in a bitter break-up.
Last week, The Sun was first to report how reality TV star-turned-wrestler Adam, 31, would be stepping into the South Africa compound as a bombshell.
Adam has already seen sparks fly with model Arabella Chi, 32, yet loyal Love Island fans can reveal his first villa experience when, towards the end of the 2016 series, he coupled up with Katie Salmon, 28.
The duo made it to the final where they finished in fourth place, missing out to eventual winners Nathan Massey and Cara De La Hoyde.
Their romance in the real world quickly faltered and, just five days after leaving the villa, it was all over and things turned nasty very quickly.
Now the real reason for the swift break-up has come to light - with a series of bitter insults to blame.

Bombshell Adam - who entered series two on day 11 - stuck the knife in first - cruelly taking to X to brand the brunette a "kebab."
In a very blunt comment, he said: "It's like when you're eating a kebab after a night out and the first few bites taste good but then you realise that it really isn't nice at all!"
She retorted by likening him to "socks" sand sniped: "It's like getting socks at Christmas. Practical but no fun."
Trying to be the better person, she then added: "I don't hold grudges I say my view then am done, I forget about it.
"All love here."
Meanwhile, Adam has previously claimed to have "slept with over 100 women".
Speaking to new! magazine at the time he starkly showcased his former lothario ways.
Adam told the publication: "My mum is going to kill me! I have slept with quite a few girls.
"Girls come to Marbella on holiday and forget their morals and self-respect.
He added: "I've obviously got that reputation of being one of those typical guys who goes to the gym and works out, works abroad and is a player.
"I understand that I have been, but I've had my fun."
His entry into the All Stars villa shows that he has turned a new leaf and is now looking for lasting love.
A TV insider was first to tell us of his entry and said: “Adam is very easy on the eye - he's built like a Gladiator and covered in tattoos, so he is bound to turn some heads and cause trouble as the show approaches its final week.”
