MICHAEL McIntyre’s Big Show bosses could be rapped for allowing presenter AJ Odudu to “plug” a mobile phone brand that she advertised.
The Big Brother co-host was the face of Google Pixel from 2022 to 2023.
Viewers on Saturday night saw her give her phone to comedian Michael for his “Send to All” segment — where he sends an embarrassing text to her contacts.
Michael remarked that it was not an iPhone and AJ confirmed it was a Google Pixel — adding that she had owned one of the Apple devices but that it was too fragile.
She said: “With iPhones every time I dropped them, the screen would smash. Five times in one week I dropped my phone and smashed it. It was five consecutive days and I thought, ‘I can’t have this.’ ”
AJ said the Pixel was “sturdier” and showed off her confidence in it by throwing it from her theatre box to the stage, where 47-year-old Michael caught it.

Viewers at home could not help but notice the apparent plug by AJ, 35, who filmed the show last year and co-hosts Celebrity Big Brother on ITV next month.
One wrote on X/Twitter: “AJ does a television commercial for the Google Pixel phone. This is on the BBC. What’s all that about?”
Another wrote: “AJ Odudu spoke about her Google Pixel phone being better than an iPhone for about a minute.
“Clearly against their guidelines . . . interested to see what they say as we were agog!”

The BBC has to adhere to strict guidelines prohibiting the promotion of products on their shows, whether it is done blatantly or subtly.
A BBC spokesman said: “Ahead of broadcast of the programme, it was confirmed to the BBC that AJ Odudu was no longer under contract to promote any smartphone related organisations.”
