EMMERDALE star Roxy Shahidi says she bought herself padded knickers to protect her bottom while skating on Dancing On Ice.
The actress, 40, revealed she is terrified of being seriously injured after dislocating a rib during training in December.
She has described the rest of the cast as “the walking wounded”.
Roxy, who plays Leyla Harding on the ITV soap, said: “I got myself a pair of padded knickers so I could push myself on the ice, fall on my bum and be less scared of breaking things.
“I’ve still got quite a lot of scar tissue around the rib I dislocated and it just gets sore from time to time.
“My knee’s kind of hurting at the moment, but I’m managing it. My groin’s a little bit sore because of a jump.

“To be honest, we’re all the walking wounded on this show. I suppose that’s a testament to how tough it is on the ice.”
The mum of one admitted she is terrified of injuring her pro skating partner Sylvain Longchambon, 43, who performed shirtless during their sexy routine last weekend.
She said: “I just try to do my best and not kill him.”
Is Roxy Shahidi married and does she have any children?
Roxy has been married to fellow actor Arsher Ali since 2010.
The pair met in 2007 while working on a London stage play together.
Like his wife, Arsher is also a familiar face on screen having starred in a multitude of dramas across different channels, including the BBC series Line of Duty.
In 2018, the couple welcomed a daughter.
