Love Island’s ‘Messy’ Mitch reveals how he got DRUNK on set after getting his hands on secret booze haul

LOVE Island's Mitch Taylor has lived up to his messy nickname after admitting he got "hammered" in the villa.

The All Stars contestant, 27, - who was given the boot with show partner Liberty Poole - told how he made the most of alcopops.

Love Island has strict alcohol rules - capped at two drinks a night per star - to honour the mental health of contestants.

Yet it seems this was relaxed for the promotional feature.

Sheffield lad Mitch told of the anomaly and said: "We did actually get to drink alcohol on the advert of WKD.

"It was seven percent. I was flying."

He added: "Honestly I don't think my feet touched the floor walking back from the beach. I was flying all the way there, I was hammered.

"It was lit.

He then candidly admitted: "I was so hungover."

Shortly after his villa exit Mitch was seen looking cosy with glamour model Jemma Lucy.

He also exclusively told The Sun of the real reason for the intense tears and tantrums in the villa.

The gas engineer reckons life is so intense in the South Africa compound because everyone in there wants to find a partner.

"They're not going back on for the screen time," Mitch told The Sun.

"They've already got that foundation on the outside. This is truly about them trying to find love.

"I don’t think the arguments were produced. I think everyone just got so heated because we're in the villa so much."

He also confessed he couldn't trust anyone on his series and flagged the lack of "bro code."
