‘Absolutely shocking!’ fume The Chase viewers as they demand ITV changes ‘boring’ format to save show
Four new contestants took on the Sinnerman last night, but the episode mirrored one from last week
THE CHASE viewers have been left fuming after watching the most recent of the ITV quiz show, and are demanding big changes be made to the format of the show.
After Wednesday’s episode, fans of The Chase noticed a disturbing pattern in the way contestants choose which offer to take.

Each episode of The Chase welcomes four new contestants to take on one of the infamous Chasers.
Before they do, they separately enter into the cash builder round, where they face host Bradley Walsh, 63, and answer as many questions as they can in one minute.
After that, they come face-to-face with the Chaser, who then gives them two cash offers. They can stick with what they earned in the cash builder round or accept one of the Chaser’s offers. One will be higher, giving greater reward for more risk, while the other is lower, making the next round slightly easier.
It’s up to the Chaser how much they offer and can be very exciting when offers in the high five figures are up for grabs.

However, recently viewers have noticed that no contestants have been taking high offers, and instead are sticking with their cash builder score or taking the low offer.
This happened again in last night’s episode when contestants Barry, Danny Wendy and Andrew faced Paul Sinha, aka the Sinnerman.
Barry went first, moving forward with his cash builder balance of £4,000, but was quickly eliminated. Music manager Danny was next, but also fell short of bringing back the £8,000 he earned in his cash builder.
When it was her turn, Wendy won £5,000 in the cash builder and received a high offer of £50,000 from Paul, 53, and a low offer of £2,000. Instead of sticking with the five, she chose the two.

While Andrew did bring back his cash builder balance of £8,000, none of the contestants even thought about going for the higher offers they received.
As a result, viewers branded the episode “boring” and called the quiz programme “absolutely shocking” on X, formerly Twitter.
They also called for a change to the show’s format so that contestants don’t always take the low offers.
“What a load of old s**t,” one viewer criticised on X, formerly Twitter, while another commented, “ITV needs to change the format on The Chase.”
“Very memorable episode that’ll be treasured forever,” another viewer said sarcastically.

- Host Bradley Walsh was left crying with laughter when he had to read out multiple choice answers, finding one to be a very rude inuendo for women's privates.
- He also snapped 'why are you here?' at another contestant when they revealed they'd visited 93 countries in one year.
- And recently, Bradley was forced to turn away from the camera to issue a stern warning to a contestant, telling him not to 'ruin the show' after he started making naughty jokes about 'decorative knobs.'
This was also a problem last week when two contestants who were facing Mark “The Beast” Labbett chose to take much lower offers than what they’d earned in the cash builder round.
“Beginning to get bored with the high-low offers being taken,” a viewer admitted after watching.
Another viewer agreed, saying: “I’m getting bored with these low-offer players now. Every episode there seems to be two or three of them taking the easy way out. It’s c**p TV.”
The Chase continues today on ITV1 at 5pm.
