OVER the years Love Island has seen many couples continue their romance after the famous villa closes its doors.
Two Islanders who didn't last the distance are Jess Gale and Ched Uzor - with some fans wondering why they split.

When were Jess and Ched on Love Island?
Jess Gale and Ched Uzor met when they both appeared on the first ever winter Love Island in 2020.
On day one of season 6, Jess and her twin Eve Gale arrived in the villa as bombshells.
To confirm, myself and Ched have split, we are still good friends and I wish him all the best.

Sadly, Eve got given the boot on day six, leaving her sister to go on alone in the villa.
During her time on the show, Jess was coupled up with Mike Boateng, Nas Majeed, and Luke Mabbott.

However, it was when Ched arrived on day 21, that things really started to heat up for the blonde bombshell.
His arrival came during the Casa Amor stage of the show - where the Islanders are split up into two villas, with the girls in one, and the boys in another.
Two new batches of Islanders are then unleashed to see if they can tempt the original cast and win themselves a permanent place on the show.
Luckily for Ched there was an instant spark between him and Jess, and they coupled up.

They went from strength to strength and they eventually made it to the final, finishing in fourth.
They lost out to Love Island 2020 winners Paige Turley and Finn Tapp.
What happened between Jess and Ched on Love Island?
After leaving the villa, the pair continued their romance on the outside as a couple, and were spotted out on romantic dates.
There was even talk of moving into together, with Ched saying he "wouldn't mind" living with Jess and her sister Eve.
Speaking on the Love Island Reunion Show in February 2020, Jess said: "Me and Eve live in a flat together in London.

" So for me to move somewhere with Ched it would mean Eve is alone and I don’t want to make Eve alone...
"Unless Ched was to move in with me and Eve. We haven’t really spoken about this yet!"
Ched replied: ";I wouldn’t really mind to be fair living with both of them, what I saw of Eve, I get on with Eve as well.
"It would be easy to live with both of them."
He even insisted that he would "do everything" when it comes to domestic duties, and bragged about his cooking skills.
But sadly, this never materialised, as the couple broke up not long after.
Why did Jess and Ched split up?
After Love Island ended in February 2020, and Ched and Jess had returned to the UK, the world went into lockdown following the outbreak of Covid.
This ultimately led to the demise of their romance, with Ched announcing their break up in May 2020.
He told the Johnny Seifert’s Secure The Insecure podcast at the time: “ I came home and then the following Monday we got locked down.
"So she was in lockdown with her sisters and I was in Suffolk at home with my family. So we haven’t seen each other really.”
Jess then waited until the following month to break her silence on the split.
Taking to Instagram, she posted: "To confirm, myself and Ched have split, we are still good friends and I wish him all the best x".
Jess added: "Thanks for all the support you have given us since the villa."
Who have Ched and Jess dated since splitting?
Since splitting from Ched, Jess has remained tight lipped about any romances she has had since.
However, in February 2024, she re-entered the villa to take part in Love Island All Stars.
Along with her sister Eve, she arrived as a bombshell with Joe Garrett, from season 5.
In 2024, Ched revealed he was in a relationship, and had been for three years.

He told us this is why he turned down ITV's offer to appear on All Stars.
Ched told The Sun: “People that know me know, and the people that follow me know I’ve got a missus so…maybe they wanted to bring Jess on there as well and that's why they wanted me to go on there. But who knows, man.”
