The woman is on a solo trip across the ocean to Grenada when she spots two men floating on the wreckage of a ship.

She stops to save them as any Good Samaritan would, but soon discovers her charitable deed has severe consequences.

The two strangers seize control of her boat and reveal themselves to be drug smugglers who got caught in a storm.

Then they force Naomi to go deep sea diving for their lost kilos of cocaine.

This difficult mission is only made worse by the presence of a huge shark swimming around under the boat, who happens to have consumed some of the white powder that was lost and is in a frenzy.

Although the premise sounds exciting, viewers were left hating the film because of 'wooden' acting and a lack of creativity with the script.

The action film received a shocking score of 13 per cent on review site Rotten Tomatoes.

One person groaned: "We have all seen bad shows on Netflix. Horrid, even.

"But Deep Fear represents such a total failure of human creativity and professionalism that it demands that we embrace machine created content."

Another warned: "Do not watch deep fear in Netflix. Shorty look good but easily the worst movie I’ve seen this year already."

A third hit out: "I just watched a movie on Netflix called Deep Fear so yall wont have to. Lemme tell you something……. TRASH."

Someone else called it a "waste of time", begging other Netflix users not to watch it.

One person revealed the only redeemable moment, saying: "Have a high tolerance for cheesy shark movies but Deep Fear is really bad. 85 minutes and most of it is padding. Sharks barely do anything. Just incredibly dull. There is one hilarious moment though where a character screams that a shark is high on cocaine. Needed more of that."
