DEATH In Paradise stars got put on blast by BBC Breakfast viewers today - who branded an interview "excruciating".
Fans of the crime drama were delighted to hear that the show would be coming back to screens this February.
The 13th season has been in the works since last summer, and has been eagerly anticipated.
But when actors Don Warrington and Élizabeth Bourgine were interviewed about the upcoming series on BBC Breakfast this morning, viewers found their answers awkward and stilted.
Don was asked about a crucial scene in the show where his character, Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, heads outside alone after a disagreement with colleagues.
The 72-year-old star shared: "I go for a little walk and something happens to me on my walk which nobody expected.

"Basically I get shot. From the moment I got the script I read it, I saw it, I got shot. I accepted it."
The presenters seemed a bit thrown by his short response to the question, but went on to ask Élizabeth what she thinks viewers love so much about the show.
She responded: "I think it's because it's just a pleasure. You watch the show with your family, with your son, your daughter, and it's like a game.
"You watch Death in Paradise; you have a murder, then the music, then the challenge is what happened. Whodunnit.

"People are really having fun finding who did it, and how and when and why."
Although many people are excited to watch the new series, they were left bored by the discussion about the show.
One person sighed: "10 mins of talking about a forthcoming programme. This interview is painfully stilted."
Another asked: "Why is interviewing actors so excruciating?"
I think what you mean is, will he find some sort of love?
Ralf Little
Earlier this week Ralf Little revealed the future of his character Neville Parker was up in the air.
When asked about a possible replacement to the lead character he replied: “I have honestly no idea and they haven’t told me. Maybe they had no idea yet.”
And the actor caused chaos on The One Show when he was asked a very innocent question - with a rude double meaning.
Host Lauren Laverne said one viewer wanted to know if Neville would ever get his "happy ending".

Trying to compose himself, Ralf replied, “Just mentally change gear. Yes… Well… I don’t know…” before he started laughing.
He added: "I think what you mean is, will he find some sort of love?”

The changing faces of the Death In Paradise detectives
Death In Paradise first hit TV screens in 2011.
The BBC series saw DI Richard Poole arrive on the island of Saint Marie to investigate the murder of a British cop.
Uptight Poole, who was known for wearing a suit and tie in the heat of the fictional Caribbean island, was played by actor Ben Miller.
Miller returned as Poole for season two, but he himself was discovered murdered at the beginning of the third series, with Humphrey Goodman brought in to investigate.
Goodman - played by Love Actually's Kris Marshall - then stayed on as the lead detective until a murder brought the team to London, and he was reunited with love Martha Lloyd.
Marshall's character left in the middle of season six in 2017, with Goodman and fiancee Martha now fronting spin-off Beyond Paradise.
Ardal O'Hanlon replaced Marshall as DI Jack Mooney until series nine in 2020.
His replacement was Neville Parker, played by Ralf Little, who has taken on the starring role in three more series, and three Christmas specials.
In the 12th season, Parker was arrested for murder after being framed by his supposed girlfriend Sophie Chambers.
The 13th series starts in February 2024.
