Morning Live’s Gethin Jones reveals doctors forced him to stop charity bike ride after painful injury
BBC Morning Live presenter Gethin Jones has revealed that ‘doctor's orders’ forced him to withdraw from a crucial fund-raising challenge.
The 45-year-old was raising money for MND and the Doddie Foundation before he suffered the painful injury.
Gethin recently opened up to his Instagram followers about how he had to pull out of a charity bike ride due to his ongoing knee injury.
The Morning Live host shared how he had completed 45 minutes of a charity bike ride to raise money for Motor Neuron Disease and the Doddie Foundation, which was set up by rugby player Doddie Weir OBE.
Gethin wrote in the post on his Instagram story: "Did 45 mins (doctors orders with knee) but @robwainwright6 made me pay double for not completing. All goes into a pot to change lives. @doddie_aid #MND"
The BBC star most recently gave his fans a health update, telling them he was returning to using his bike.

The Welsh Native penned to his 127K followers: "I've had an MCL injury, so I have been out of action for two months, doing any kind of training, and I've just had the go-ahead from Jeff, the best physio in the world, that I am allowed to turn my legs over.
"These are words I never thought I'd ever speak, but I am so excited about using the watt bike."
The TV personality then posted a video to his Instagram story of him on the Watt bike, labelled with three smiling face emojis.
Gethin's fans started to worry after he was snapped at the premiere of Netflix's new show Six Nations: Full Contact wearing a knee brace.

The BBC host later shared a clip of his red-carpet apperance and clarified on his social media that he'd been wearing the knee brace for six weeks.
