GRANTCHESTER fans have shared their fears about Reverend Will Davenport and have demanded he gets ‘help’ as the guilt from a deadly accident takes a toll on him.
Season eight of the ITV drama kicked off with fans witnessing the character get involved in a harrowing crash, which resulted in a tragic death.
But as the series progresses, Grantchester fans have become more concerned as they saw Reverend Will Davenport, played by Tom Brittney, racked with guilt during Thursday’s episode.
Although he nearly faced the law and had to be bailed out by his good friend Geordie Keating, played by Robson Green, it became apparent that it was nothing more than an unfortunate accident.
In the most recent instalment, Will’s wife, Bonnie Davenport, played by Charlotte Ritchie, returned home because she was concerned about the effect the incident has had on him.
She tried to get him to open up and talk about his emotions as she noticed he had become withdrawn since it happened, but he abruptly shut her down and turned on her.

During the heated argument, Reverend Will raged at his wife, saying: “You do not understand, Bonnie, because we are very different people.
“I have faith, and you don't, and it is my faith that has seen me through this."
In later scenes, Will seemed to be returning to his usual self as he told his wife to return to her parents' house.
He smiled as he waved his wife and child off, claiming he was happy to have the quiet.

However, when his family left, viewers witnessed his expression quickly change as he lit a cigarette, clearly still trying to come to terms with the accident.
As the scenes aired, viewers took to X(Twitter) and expressed their worries for Will and asked for him to get ‘help’ before it got worse.
One viewer said: “Will clearly needs counselling or something.”
Another followed: “Will isn’t ok, even though he’s trying to pretend he is.”
A third questioned: “Wonder if Will is questioning his faith.”
Another shocked fan penned: “That's the 1st time I've ever seen Will smoking!”
Last summer, Tom announced that he would be exiting the ITV show after five years.
At the time of his departure, he said: “I’ve had the most incredible time playing Will Davenport for the last five years.
"I got to solve crimes with my best friend and work with the best cast and crew I could ever ask for. I’ll miss it more than anything.
"But it’s time for the baton to be passed, as it once was to me, and I’m so excited for Rishi [Nair] to join the Grantchester family.”
