IT LOOKS ODD!

Where’s he gone?’ demand baffled Dragons’ Den viewers after legendary star ‘goes missing’

Watchers of the BBC One show took to social media in droves after they were left confused over a format change for the new series

SOMETHING, or should we say someone, has apparently gone missing on Dragon's Den.

Fans usually tune into the show to see aspiring entrepreneurs pitch their business ideas to the likes of Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Sara Davies, Touker Suleyman and Steven Bartlett.

Another major part of the programme has been 61-year-old broadcaster and journalist Evan Davis.

He's best known for his roles on the Today, Newsnight and BBC Radio 4's evening news programme named PM.

Usually, Dragon's Den viewers can expect to see him on-screen at the start of the programme to introduce the show.

They have also previously heard him give commentary over the pitches and round off the programme at the end.

However, fans have noticed that he no longer visually appears on camera at the beginning and end of the show.

Only his voiceover contributions have been included in the programme, which has been a mainstay of schedules since 2005.

They took to X - formerly known as Twitter - as they wondered why the producers opted for a change to the format.

One fan posted: "Evan Davies can’t even be arsed schlepping up to Salford Quays for a ten second intro these days. #DragonsDen."

A second enquired: "Where’s erm Evan Davis? #dragonsden,"

"Evan Davis this year by the looks of it #dragonsden," said a third alongside a GIF of an actor peeking through a window from outside.

Other business enthusiasts even claimed that his style for the voiceover commentary has changed for the new series.

Another fan asked: "Where is Evan Davies commentary over the pitch too. This all feels and looks odd. Even the music seems different #DragonsDen."

And a fifth viewer added: "This is new @BBCDragonsDen! Evan used to tell us everything the dragons had just said. Now he’s telling us what they’re going to say next! #dragonsden."

A BBC spokesperson told The Sun: "We’ve used this approach to allow more time for on-screen pitches and discussion in the den, and Evan is still very much a part of the programme."
