CORRIE star Chris Gascoyne surprised pub goers as he popped into a boozer in Sheffield for a pint over the weekend.
The actor, 55, looked very different from his soap character just weeks after his onscreen exit as he posed up with The Railway pub’s landlady.
Chris was in town ahead of watching Sheffield United take on West Ham, which ended with a draw.
Delighted landlady Carol Donaldson told : "I didn't know he was a Blades fan until Sunday but he was the most lovely guy.
"He was very patient because people wanted photos with him."
He was joined by Catherine Tate’s partner - the screenwriter Jeff Gutheim, who was also said to be “lovely”.
Carol added: “I spoke to Catherine on FaceTime and she was right down to earth.
"Chris said The Railway was an amazing pub with what I had done to it, that the atmosphere was fab and that I'm a great landlady, very welcoming. It was a fab night, they didn't want to go."
The actor, who played Peter Barlow, walked away from the ITV soap in an emotional final episode which centred purely on his exit.
Chris had appeared on the show on and off for over 20 years but has seemingly said goodbye for good - although the door has been left open for a potential return.
Speaking about his exit, Christ said at the time: "I'm looking forward now to having a break and seeing what else comes up, because as an actor, you never know."
