CALL The Midwife fans have been left 'ready to riot' and 'sobbing' as a beloved character fought for their life in the latest episode.
The BBC medical drama saw, fan-favourite Fred Buckle's health deteriorate on the show.
Fred, played by actor, Cliff Parisi has been a fan favorite on Call The Midwife since the beginning.
After Reggie found Fred lying on the floor, he rushed him to the hospital and got him into the ICU. Fred couldn't breathe or talk.
Things took a grim turn for the character as he lay in the hospital with Reggie and Sister Monica-Joan by his side.

Many fans were left 'sobbing' and 'ready to riot' if Fred gets killed off the series.
Taking to X/Twitter, one wrote: "If they kill off Fred I will be very cross. Such a lovely character we’ve all fallen in love with over the years",
A second said: "SOBBING AT FRED".
A third added: "Call The Midwife is breaking me this evening".

It comes after Call The Midwife fans branded the latest plot, which tackles the problem with black mould, a "state of affairs" and claimed "we’re now in 2024 and nothing has changed".
Viewers were taken aback at how relevant the storyline was in today's times despite the show being set over 50 years ago.
