EastEnders legend seen on set for the first time in five years after agreeing to reprise iconic role

AN Eastenders legend is due to return to Albert Square after they were spotted on set with castmates James Farrar and Shona McGarty. 

Patsy Palmer left the BBC soap four years ago but has now returned and reprised her role as the fiery Bianca Jackson. 

James, who plays the role of Zack Hudson, posted a video on Instagram of Shona, who plays the role of Whitney Dean, and Patsy on the EastEnders set. 

The trio looked very happy as they sang along to Whitney Houston's song It's Not Right, But It's Okay. 

James captioned the post: “Since returning from Nepal, I’ve been leaving home for BBC Elstree at 5am and returning 8.30pm. 

“The imminent long days and other challenges in 2024 were part of the reason we decided to embark on a trek…

“I knew filming was going to be busy from January, so the adventure was a conscious decision to gain perspective before a heavy few months on set. 

“12-hour hikes and the cold nights on the mountain helped prepare me for shooting in a t-shirt in the snow last Tuesday (it’s March in story) - @aaronthiara_, you firmed it lad.

“You’re in for a treat… @patsypalmerofficial is back on set, and what a joy she is to have around the place on these long days. 

“Tish told me Pats and I would get on. Full of life and gratitude. And absolutely electric as Bianca. 

He concluded by saying that he would be training even harder in January and has not yet fallen ill because he has never had 'a day off sick from school’.

James also mentioned that surrounding himself with the “right energy and moving my body is essential for my mindset… but so are my people.”

Shona reposted the video and penned: “ With my favourite people @patsypalmer @jamescfarrar”

It was revealed last week that Patsy would be returning to the Square, but it's still unclear if Bianca will be involved in Whitney's exit as actress Shona McGarty will be leaving her role this year after 15 years of playing the popular soap character.

Speaking about her return, she said: “I’m so excited to be reprising the role of Bianca.

"EastEnders holds such a special place in my heart, so it’s always a pleasure to be back.”

No further details about her return have been released as of yet.
