EastEnders fans blast soap bosses for ‘ruining’ Walford legend – ranting ‘plot over character as usual!’
EASTENDERS fans have blasted the show's bosses for completely 'ruining' a Walford icon.
The BBC soap opera has confirmed a shocking new romance storyline for Kat Slater, played by actress Jessie Wallace.
In scenes set to air on the BBC show, fans will watch as Kat begins an unexpected romance with newly-single Nish Panesar following the end of his union to Suki.
Kat, who is married to Phil Mitchell, has been central to some of the show's biggest and best storylines but it seems that a potential romance with villainous Nish has tipped fans over the edge.
Over the past year, fans have grumbled about the decision to pair Kat off with Walford hardman Phil despite her long-running affiliation with Alfie Moon.
She has also struggled to have her own stand-out storyline which has caused unrest among loyal supporters of the show.

One fan has now claimed that shoe chiefs are determined to ruin her character by placing her into stories that 'make no sense'.
Making their thoughts known on X - formerly Twitter - about the impending story, one fan wrote: "Why are @bbceastenders determind to ruin Kat's character?!
"Having her marry Phil was bad enough but then you come up with this. Plot over character as usual!!"
In upcoming scenes, Kat and Nish will find themselves growing closer after both suffering heartbreak over their marriage splits.
Phil will grow suspicious of the pairing when Nish steps in to support Kat after her ex tries to buy her a drink to win her back.
It leads to the Mitchell man to offer up a warning but this soon only pushes for Nish to attempt to see if he can make a go of things with Kat.
On advice from Priya, Nish asks Kat out on a date and whilst she initially declines, the duo soon find themselves enjoying a cosy dinner at Walford East.
However, it is not long until Phil finds them and he soon has a few choice words for the new unlikely Albert Square pairing.
