‘Bring it back!’ demand fuming Gladiators fans as they spot ‘missing’ part of new BBC reboot

GLADIATORS fans were left feeling disappointed and unimpressed with a specific new feature of the rebooted show.

Viewers tuned into the first episode of the revived 90’s show, but some fans wanted the old format to be returned.

As the debut episode hosted by Bradley and Barney Walsh aired, fans took to Reddit and opened up a discussion about the latest instalment.

Many viewers complained about the change in background music compared to the original soundtrack. 

One fan said: “They didn’t play the same background music during the challenges.”

Another added: “Yes, I was so glad it wasn't even a new recording of the old theme - it really just was the old theme.

“I was disappointed though they didn't use the original music throughout for each event, especially the original Eliminator music which was a banger.”

A third expressed: “I said exactly the same thing. It was so promising when the original theme played, but they really dropped a b*****k, not including the hang tough, duel, and eliminator themes; they made it. 

“Someone with more skills than me needs to take these and edit them over the top.”

Another stressed: “Yes! Missed a trick here, the old music gave the events a finishing flourish.

“Each theme seemed to match the event, Hang Tough had a slow swinging theme, Duel had a buildinging battle theme with an excellent guitar at the start, and the Eliminator told a tense story of a race. 

“New eliminator seemed to be the same two bars of beats on repeat.”

The new series sees contestants battling against a Gladiator in several events to secure points for the infamous final event, The Eliminator.

Apollo, Athena and Bionic are among the 16-strong lineup now taking on the weekly challenges.
