‘I cannot deal!’ rage Vera fans as Absolutely Fabulous star makes ‘off-putting’ show debut
VERA fans were left raging "I cannot deal" after an Absolutely Fabulous star made an "off-putting" appearance.
Sunday night's episode saw DCI Vera Stanhope investigate how a young woman's body ended up at the side of a lonely railway crossing.
Absolutely Fabulous star Julia Sawalha joined the ITV show for the first time.
Julia - who is the sister of Loose Women panellist Nadia - is most famous for playing Saffy Monsoon, Jennifer Saunders' long-suffering daughter in the BBC comedy show.
The actress played Helen Rushden in the crime drama, a local resident who was shocked when Vera informed her that the person she had been looking after had died.
The character had a major part to play in the episode as Vera's team delved into the murder.

Vera fans, however, weren't too pleased with her attempt at a Geordie accent.
Taking to X/Twitter, many dubbed it "off-putting".
One wrote: "If you like me are watching Vera I simply cannot deal with Julia Sawalha with a Geordie accent, it’s like a whole different person."
A second penned: "Julia Sawalha doing an accent Is very off-putting #Vera. Yeah, I don't mind her attempt, just odd not hearing her normal voice."

A third added: "Can't actually deal with Julia's Geordie accent!"
A fourth complained: "Wish she didn't have to do that silly accent."
A fifth wrote: "Weird hearing Julia do a Geordie accent."
Julia, originally from Wandsworth, London, is known for her southern English accent, rather than a Geordie one.
It comes after the "final ever" episode of Vera is just days away as its future is still unclear.
The last episode is scheduled to broadcast on Sunday, January 21 at 8pm on ITV1.
Vera airs at 8pm on Sunday on ITV and ITVX
