Fans just have to register to the ITV website to have their say.

Holly told viewers: "This series for the first time ever, voting online only and it’s totally free.";

Stephen gasped: "Free? As in you don’t pay anything?"

Amused, Holly replied: "That’s what free means."

Tonight’s split premiere will see six celebrities take to the ice for the live show - and no one will be voted off until next week.

Contestants S Club 7 star Hannah Spearritt, former Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas, Emmerdale actress Roxy Shahidi, Love Island and West End star Amber Davies, former boxer Ricky Hatton and Olympian Greg Rutherford are all set to perform.

And as the series kicked off Holly made her return to TV and gave a "huge welcome" to Stephen Mulhern as he becomes a permanent presenter on Dancing On Ice.

The presenter, 42, who left This Morning in October after 14 years on the sofa, has been hosting the ITV ice skating show since 2006.

Holly worked decades ago with Stephen on ITV Saturday morning children's show Ministry Of Mayhem.

The series kicked off with an opening performance from the professional skaters and the introduction of the new celebrity contestants.

Holly, who wore a silver sparkly dress, said: "To the greatest show on ice, and let's hear it for the amazing cast of 2024. Let me just say a huge welcome to Stephen Mulhern."

Phillip left ITV last year after admitting to a relationship with a male employee on This Morning.
