ACTRESS Marisa Abela transforms into Amy Winehouse in the first scenes released from the tragic star’s biopic.
The 27-year-old is seen singing on stage in a trailer for the movie Back To Black, out in April, while Jack O’Connell, 33, plays Amy’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
However, some fans said it was distasteful not to use the original vocals.
One said of Amy, who died in 2011 at 27: “Keep her memory alive, but don’t dub her.”
But those close to the Winehouse family, and in particular Janis, said they were keen to see how the director, Sam Taylor-Johnson, was telling Amy’s story.
Production for the film began on January 16 2023.

In 2011, the singer died of alcohol intoxication.
A coroner's inquest report revealed that Amy's blood alcohol content was 416mg per 100ml at the time of her death, which is more than five times the legal drink-drive limit.
It was also enough to make her comatose and depress her respiratory system.
The inquest reached a verdict of misadventure.
