The Olympic gold medallist missed out on New Year celebrations - choosing to recover in bed ahead of the live launch show.

And after that, he looked rather exhausted in a video posted to Instagram from the rink.

Greg was seen panting for air as he rested on his knees, before falling to the ice next to his dance partner Vanessa James.

Now, with just days to go until Dancing on Ice makes its highly-awaited comeback, he's brought us up to speed with his health.

He told The Sun, "It was more over Christmas and New Year where it's affected me the most and the guys can confirm while I've been at the the rink, there's been a bit of coughing here and there, but it's significantly better now to be totally honest.

"Had the weekend off to rest, recover, recuperate and go for all that sort of stuff so feeling significantly better.

"The thing is, this show takes so much out of you mentally and physically that when you have that time like the Christmas period where we were all off for a few weeks, I think just my body decided that it was going to be sickness time, but I'm feeling much better."

Greg was the fifth star to be confirmed for this year's installment of the talent show.

In September, we revealed he would join the star-studded line-up alongside boxing legend Ricky HattonCoronation Street actress Claire SweeneyS Club 7 singer Hannah Spearritt, and Love Island winner Amber Davies.

As well as being a sportsman, Greg also has dance experience from his time on Strictly Come Dancing in 2016, in which he danced with pro dancer Natalie Lowe.
