The pair were getting ready to hit the stage for the psychological stage play titled Sleuth, which deep dives into the intricacies of human conflict, jealousy, and manipulation alongside a typical "whodunnit" mystery.

Todd penned in the caption: "Sleuth! First day at school – but have a new mate who’s really cool."

Fans took to the comments section and wished the actors well on their production as one wrote: “Have a ball, Todd. Enjoy the run!!! Chookas to see you and the cast and crew. X”

A second fan praised: “This is outstanding.”

Another added: “Can’t wait to welcome you both to Torquay in 6 weeks!.”

Todd’s character, Stephen, had one of the most compelling and nail-biting storylines after he turned into a serial killer and went on a sick murder spree.

In 2022, following his break from the soap, Stephen returned to Corrie and took out Leo, played by Joe Frost, Teddy Thompkins, portrayed by Grant Burgin and his business associate Rufus Donahue, played by Steve Meo.

The deranged killer also attempted to kill a few others but fortunately failed, and in October of the same year, his reign of terror was brought to an end after his crimes were exposed.

Once he realised there was no option other than a hasty escape, Stephen planned to flee Weatherfield with the help of Jenny Connor, played by Ann Matthews, who he had held as a hostage.

However, he was killed when Peter Barlow, played by Chris Gascoyne, ran him down in his car.

On the other hand, Neil first appeared as Ryan Malloy, the brother of Whitney Dean, played by Shona Mccarty, in 2009. He departed the soap in 2011 before returning as the same character in 2014 and 2016.

In early 2023, Ryan arrived back in Albert Square after learning that his 12-year-old daughter, Lily Slater, played by Lilia Turner, was pregnant.

Ryan attempted to persuade Lily to move to Wakefield with him, but after she overheard Ryan insulting Stacey Slater, played by Lacey Turner, she decided to stay in Walford with her mum.

Both Todd and Neil have gone into theatre productions and starred in pantos over Christmas since leaving their respective soaps.

EastEnders star Neil has appeared as Prince Vincent in the stage production of Sleeping Beauty.

The 43-year-old shared at the time of the shows that it was "extra special" to him as it would be the first time his daughter had seen him on stage.

Meanwhile, Todd made his panto debut in Derby Arena’s production of Mother Goose.

The American-born star portrayed the baddie Demon Vanity in the production.
