BBC confirms return of beloved comedy with The Inbetweeners legend in lead role

A BELOVED comedy is set to return to the BBC with a legend from The Inbetweeners in the lead role.

The broadcaster have confirmed that The Cleaner has been renewed for a third season.

Welsh actor Greg Davies, who is known for his role as Mr Gilbert in The Inbetweeners, will be back on screen as crime scene cleaner Paul 'Wicky' Wickstead.

The series follows the snarky janitor as he wipes up the mess left behind after a murder.

Although Wicky spends all day dealing with blood and guts, he still manages to find entertainment at his job by interacting with the odd assortment of people he crosses paths with.

His working hours are spent gossiping with everyone from murderers to friends of the deceased.

Greg Davies has previously joked that he gets so sweaty filming in the hazmat suit that they had to burn it after the first season ended.

Series two saw some famous faces join the BBC show as part of the guest cast, including Harriet Walter and Simon Callow.

The upcoming season can be expected to feature new actors of a similar calibre.
