All Stars boss reveals huge shake up to Love Island villa that hints at huge twist after Casa Amor axe
LOVE Island All Stars has teased a huge twist that will shake up the villa after axing Casa Amor.
Executive producer Mike Spencer, who runs the hit ITV2 show, confirmed yesterday to The Sun that Casa will be paused this series, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be shake-ups to the living - and sleeping arrangements.
Taking The Sun on a tour of the villa in South Africa, Mike told us to still expect Casa-esque twists, and pointed out a brand new ‘hidden’ feature in the lounge.
“I don't know if you've noticed, but we have 4 hidden single beds here in the wall of the lounge,” he explained, pointing to the pull-down beds. “Make of that what you will. Obviously we’re not doing Casa Amor this year, but we do have four single beds, so anything can happen.”
Asked if the show will have another twist around the halfway mark that turns everything on its head, he teased: “I think we’ve got to be reactive, yes. These islanders have done it before, so we have to be one step ahead.
“These single beds give us a way to bring in new islanders to maybe shake things up or change things. They can have a sleepover in here. We’re still working on the details. With bombshells and new arrivals, things can always change up to the last minute.
More on Love Island All Stars
“We have a pool of potential bombshells, and there are some very fun people in that mix, but it’s all down to who is dating who, who fancies who and who is single at any given point.
“That influences who we drop into the villa. It’s all about timing really.”
Mike remained tight-lipped on who is in the bombshell mix, but confirmed there were some Love Island legends he was desperate to return but couldn’t get for logistical reasons.
“There are constraints,” he nods. “There's people that we would have loved to have. Someone like Olivia Attwood, we would bring her back in a heartbeat but you know, she’s married.
“There's loads of amazing people that had kids and, you know, got married, so we can't have them. But I think the pool we've got are amazing, so watch this space!”
When asked have any of the returning islanders become huge divas since their last time in the villa.
“I mean, they're probably all quite divaish now, aren't they?” he laughs.
“ I think this villa has been set up for the Divas. It's ready. We're ready. We will embrace it.”
