Countryfile blasted for ‘blaming farmers for everything’ as BBC viewers rant ‘what has happened to the show?!’
COUNTRYFILE viewers have hit out at the most recent episode of the show, complaining that the BBC is blaming farmers for everything.
On Sunday night the programme followed presenters Anita Rani and Matt Baker as they visited Blakeney National Nature Reserve in Norfolk.
The spot is a seal habitat, providing shelter for the sea creatures as they come ashore to reproduce.
Anita tallied up the seal population with the beach warden.
Meanwhile Matt wandered along the coast and met an artist doing drawings of the local wildlife.
The programme then turned to less positive matters, with Charlotte Smith looking into the effects of farming on the environment.

The BBC presenter spoke about the way breeding cows contributes to air pollution through harmful emissions.
Although the information she shared was backed up by research, some viewers were left angered by the episode.
One person took to social media, fuming: "And now they're going after the farming industry and now emissions from farming are bad. What happened to Countryfile being advocacy for farming?"
Another moaned: "I gave up watching Countryfile when they started devoting more time to artists than farmers."
A third complained: "I just think farmers are unduly blamed for all the country’s woes… you’d almost think there was a hidden agenda to make life difficult so it becomes untenable & for their land to be taken by housing developers … I know which is worse for the country in the long run."
