EXHAUSTED Greg Rutherford 'collapsed' to the ice after a rehearsal as he admitted being "pushed to the limits".

The Olympian, 37, performed in front of Dancing on Ice co-stars as they prepare for next week's launch show.

Sharing a sneak peek of his routine, Greg was seen panting for air as he rested on his knees, before lying down on the ice next to his dance partner Vanessa James.

"I've not been this exhausted in a long time," he wrote on Instagram.

"Vanessa has pushed me to the limits. I cannot wait for everyone to see our first skate."

His professional skating partner praised Greg for his efforts, writing online: "When your skating partner has had an extremely long day and still gives it his all for show and tell.

"Imperfect... but progress."

The gold medal winner has had a tough week having come down with a chest infection.

He missed out on New Year celebrations - choosing to recover in bed ahead of the live launch show on Sunday, January 14.

Alongside a selfie of him looking sad, Greg said: "Me this year with a chest infection.

"No party, no celebration. Just feeling rough, Fingers crossed it passes soon as I've got some ice skating to do!"
