‘Nothing makes sense anymore!’ rage Emmerdale fans as they call out ‘daft’ double standard in soap accidents
EMERDALE fans have slammed show creators for creating a ‘daft’ double standard when it comes to accidents that happen on the soap.
During the New Year's Day instalment of the soap, Heath Hope (Sebastian Dowling) died after getting into a deadly car crash.
The Dales viewers are unimpressed after they spotted that Heath died during a car accident that they believed wasn’t half as serious as Chloe Harris’(Jessie Elland) accident, which she survived against all odds.
Fans of the show were in for a shock on the first day of 2024 after watching the teenager succumb to his injuries after a car trip to a party in Hotten with his twin sister Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling) and mate Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes) went terribly wrong.
While the crash was not shown during the episode, Cathy was shown driving the car and swerving into an oncoming vehicle moments before the tragedy happened.
Before the crash happened, Cathy had decided to steal her stepmother Wendy Posner's (Susan Cookson) car, so she and her twin brother, along with their friend, headed out into the back roads of the Dales to celebrate the New Year.

Unfortunately, the unthinkable happened for the family when the car ended up veering off the road in a shocking collision, which left Cathy and Angelica with some significant cuts and bruises to their faces.
Heath was seriously injured in the back of the car when Wendy and partner Bob Hope, the twins' dad, arrived at the scene she performed CPR.
Sadly, once they arrived at the hospital, Bob confirmed that his son had died.
Emmerdale fans took to social media and complained about the ITV soap's depiction of the crash while also comparing it to the deadly collision between Chloe, Mark and Charity.
One fan tweeted: “Heath in a car that lightly crashed into a wall *Dead* Chloe who fell off the side of a cliff in a car.
Another wrote: “Nothing makes sense in this show anymore, jumps from one incoherent unconnected story to another….but now with added ominous music.”
A third added: “Indeed, please please make it make sense!!!”
A fourth chimed: “Literally made no sense. I feel like Mack & Aaron may be to blame, though seems weird it showing us them on the road like that."
Viewers of the soap have previously slammed show bosses for continuing the 'rather tedious' Chloe, Charity and Mackenzie storyline.
During Super Soap Week, Charity, Mack and Chloe were involved in a car crash, and Mack decided to save Charity over the mother of his child.
In a shock twist, Chole survived the horrific accident and was airlifted to the hospital.
The trio's storyline had been going on for a few weeks, and a few months ago, fans expressed that they were getting 'bored'.
Emmerdale is on Weekdays on ITV and available on ITVX.
