They penned: "Confirmed: Dancing on Ice starts Sunday 14 January, 6.30pm on ITV and ITVX."

The new series will be full of drama on and off the ice, after bosses were forced to replace Phillip Schofield as host and battled to retain Holly Willoughby.

And the new series comes amid a feud between contestant Hannah Spearritt and her fellow S Club 7 star Rachel Stevens - who is dating show skater Brendyn Hatfield.

Rachel is likely to be in the studio during the live shows supporting Brendyn, who she skated with on the show in 2022.

Hannah, 42, will be skating with pro Andy Buchanan when the ITV1 contest kicks off on January 14.

It was revealed in September that show bosses had signed up Hannah, who was in S Club 7 from the group’s formation in 1997 to its break-up in 2003.

Last year, the band reformed without Hannah, who was also devastated by the death of S Clubber Paul Cattermole, 46, in April 2023.

The pair had been in a relationship from 2001 to 2006.

She and Rachel are said to have a long-standing beef that is unlikely to thaw any time soon.

A TV insider told The Sun: “Falling on the ice is going to feel warm and painless compared to the cold front that will envelop Dancing On Ice if their paths cross.

“The best hope is that Hannah and Rachel are kept apart. But given the series lasts for two months and they could both be in the studio at the same time, that’s not going to be easy.”

Holly, 42, only signed back up to co-present ITV’s Dancing on Ice five days ago after she quit This Morning in October after a murder and kidnap plot against her.

Last week The Sun revealed producers were keen to demonstrate how they could increase security for the celebrity skating competition, which returns on January 14.
