Who is Amanda Lamb?

Amanda Lamb was born on July 19, 1972, and is an English television presenter, property expert and former model.

She is best known for hosting the beloved Channel 4 property show A Place in the Sun for over 8 years.

However, her first taste of fame came in 1994, when she took over the role of the Scottish Widow from Deborah Moore in a long-running series of advertisements for the investment company.

Before hitting the spotlight, Amanda worked as an estate agent.

Who is Amanda Lamb's husband and does she have any children?

Amanda married Mike Carter in 1998, but they divorced in 2003.

She then married cameraman Sean McGuinness at Babington House, Somerset, in 2012.

Together they have two daughters, Willow Rose (born in February 2009), and Lottie (born in July 2013).

In an interview with she discussed the reasons behind her exit from the show,.

At the time of her exit, Amanda revealed that she had gotten pregnant with her eldest daughter, Willow Rose.

She said: “It was all, sort of, quite organic because I was pregnant with Willow, and A Place in the Sun didn't get recommissioned, so they didn't want it for a couple of years.

“And by the time it came back, Willow was three and a half, and she was in nursery, and I had a load of other commitments.

“I just thought, I'm not taking her out of nursery, I'm not taking her out of school, I’m not leaving her for three weeks at a time.

She continued: “So the decision was kind of made for me.” 

During the interview, the TV star also talked about how she missed being a part of A Place in the Sun.

Amanda said: “I would be lying if I said I didn't miss it because it was such a big part of my life. It kind of launched my career.”

However, the property expert teased that she could make a return to the much-loved property show when she said: “I might be doing something with them this year.”
