Abi Webster caught buying drugs in Coronation Street – but it’s not all as it seems
FAN favourite Abi Webster has worked hard to clean up her act after batting with a drug addiction.
However, the Coronation Street character buys drugs next week. But is she really facing an uphill battle? She may have another motive.
The beloved mechanic portrayed by Sally Carman has kept ITV viewers on edge as she has desperately tried to stick to the straight and narrow since her first appearance in the cobbles.
This hasn't been easy for Abi but when she surprisingly gave birth to a baby boy named Alfie, she had even more of a reason to stay clear and turned away from drugs altogether.
However, in scenes airing next week, Abi meets drug dealer Dean Turnbull (Anthony Crank) and buys some benzos.
To make matters worse for her, Abi is completely unaware of a mystery person photographing the exchange and it could be someone close to home.

Much like Abi, Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) has had a chequered past with drugs.
But in recent scenes of the Manchester-based program, there's something else she cannot stop thinking about - Abi's husband, Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell).
Cassie hatches a plan on her own next week in an attempt to get Abi out of her way - could she try to convince Kevin that her rival is using again?
Whatever the case may be, there is yet another layer to the mystery as Abi may not be getting drugs for herself.

Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) earlier this year, after he was hit by a van driven by a drug-fuelled Carla Connor.
In upcoming scenes, Paul asks Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) to help him end his life when the time comes.
As Todd refuses, Paul accepts it’s too much to ask but explains he’s terrified of becoming a hostage inside his own body.
A sympathetic Todd takes Paul to the surgery where Paul makes out he’s in great pain and needs morphine.
Knowing Paul could be up to no good, Todd is relieved when a Dr Gaddas refuses to prescribe it.
Later in the Rovers, Abi overhears Paul complaining to Todd that he couldn’t get a prescription for morphine and empathises.
Abi has suffered from her own substance abuse issues in the past and decides to show Paul some support.
At the flat, Todd is surprised when Abi arrives at Paul’s invitation.
