EastEnders’ Michelle Collins hits back after trolls accuse her of ‘using fame’ in row with airline
EASTENDERS star Michelle Collins has hit back after being accused of assuming her fame would get her on a flight back home.
The actress was desperate for help from budget airline easyJet after losing her passport in Malaga.
Trolls misunderstood her tweet for assistance and pointed out easyJet couldn't let her on board "just because she's Cindy in EastEnders".
Michelle replied: "Oh please!!!!! Do you have to be horrible? I'm not an idiot just very stressed indeed happy new year to you."
The 61-year-old went to the police station where she was told easyJet could let her onboard without a passport.
En route to the airport, Michelle wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Please easyJet can you help me I have lost my passport at Malaga airport the police (I have been there ) say it is up to the airline to let me fly home.

"My flight is at 8.30pm tonight I am heading to the airport having just left the police station . Thank you Michele x."
Half an hour later, Michelle tweeted again: "Nobody is very helpful @easyJet this is awful."
easyJet insisted Michelle would not be able to board without emergency documentation.
In a statement sent to The Sun, a spokesman said: "We have been in contact with Ms Collins to advise her to contact the British Embassy for assistance with emergency documentation for travel. This is always required if a passport is lost.
"While we sympathise with the situation, all immigration procedures are set down by the authorities, not the airline and so we must follow what is required by the authorities."
The actress has not yet updated fans on whether she made the flight.
Michelle recently returned to EastEnders after her character Cindy Beale faked her own death in 1998.
EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
