The Masked Singer fans are convinced Rat is Coronation Street star as they unravel clues

MASKED Singer viewers think they’ve sussed the identity of Rat after last night’s launch show.

The human-sized rodent got the party started with a spirited rendition of Vengaboys classic Boom Boom Boom!!

Perhaps the biggest clue was the detection of a Liverpudlian accent, while references to DIY and cleaning led some to think of Claire’s time hosting 60 Minute Makeover.

However, Claire is a renowned stage performer and Rat’s vocals maybe weren’t as polished as the Corrie and Brookside actress’s.

Despite this, one viewer wrote on X: “Claire Sweeney 60 minute makeover [thumbs up emoji].”

Another posted: “Rat, Claire Sweeney.”

A third said: “Rat no idea, having a guess at Claire Sweeney because of the early morning reference ( Big Breakfast ).”

Another asked: “Is rat Claire Sweeney?”

Last night Maypole, Dippy Egg and Weather found themselves fighting for survival in the bottom three.

Panellists Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and guest Charlie Simpson then revealed Weather would be sent home.

The judges nearly all guessed it would be superstar Dionne Warwick, but were still shocked to see her behind the mask.

Dionne, 85, is a five-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist.

Those watching at home were baffled as to how she got sent home so quickly – and suggested she had just signed up to do one episode.

Speculating about her early exit, one person wrote: “If Dionne Warwick is voted of #MaskedSingerUK 1st then there must be a 1 week contract available for those who want to take part but not for too long. Unless they just don’t want to pretend Weather is not her for another week?”

A second said: “Dionne Warwick clearly had a “one episode only” deal.”

While a third added: “#TheMaskedSinger is def a fix! They knew it was Dionne Warwick and woulda kept her in for being the legend that she is. Something fishy going on.”
