Five times Alison Hammond caused chaos on This Morning in 2023 – from destroying table to tears and on-air blunders
THIS Morning viewers have loved Alison Hammond since she became a main host. Why? Well, partly because you never know what chaos she is going to unleash next.
As we see out a year of huge events on the ITV daytime hit, we take a look at the Brummie star's moments of madness...
Crushing a table
Alison rose to fame on Big Brother, where she broke a table by dancing on it - and she's continued the theme in her TV presenting career.
Back in February she was in a ski resort learning to make creme brulee for a feature on This Morning when she leaned on a table during a hit of hysterics.
It ended up collapsing instantly, leaving the whole recipe in a heap on the floor on top of the crushed table.
She later told viewers: "I’ve offered to help clear up but I think it’s best if I just stay here." Maybe safer if you step outside entirely, Alison.

Phonecall on air
We have heard Alison's phone going off on air before, but this year she actually answered while cameras were rolling.
The big emergency? Her postman was trying to deliver something to her Birmingham home.
She said: "I'm so sorry, Ive just got to let... It's really rude of me, it's the postman. Can I just open the gate?
"The postman is at the gate and I need to let him in."
However, when Dermot asked: "I want to know - are you expecting anything in particular?" she snapped: "None of your business!"
Christmas gift tears
Some of the most moving moments on the show have come as a result of Alison's honest reactions - with the star breaking down in tears on the Christmas show.
She was already crying when Dermot O'Leary revealed a seat plaque at Birmingham's Hippodrome theatre had been dedicated to her.
Alison sobbed: "I'm so sorry I'm crying, you don't understand what that would've meant to my mum."
Then Dermot revealed the seat along had been dedicated to her late mother Maria, with another plaque reding: "Mama Foster, 'The most beautiful sound I ever heard Maria'."
'Take the camera off me!'
In June - at the height of summer hayfever - Alison demanded cameras not film her, despite broadcasting live at the time.
As her eyes started streaming the star explained she was having a "really bad" hayfever attack.
She said: "I'm sorry I just have to blow my nose. Don't put the camera on me for one second. Thank you."
Alison was then heard loudly blowing her nose off-camera, later admitting: "I'm so embarrassed."
Theatre singing row
One of This Morning's many controversial moments this year came when Alison joined the debate over singing at the theatre.
She reacted to the news that a theatre had banned the audience from joining in, saying: "I can’t believe it. I’d be devastated. I’m not even going to go to that show now.”

But there was a huge backlash, with many pointing out that police were scrambled to a performance of The Bodyguard in Manchester where people had begun "trying to sing over the cast".
Alison put out an apology, saying: "After reflection and the comments I made on Wednesday's show I want to apologise to anyone who I offended especially the incredibly talented theatre performers, who I have the upmost respect for."
